Setup and Sell Dept 490-001 Art Supplies
Art supplies are considered course-related. Therefore, they are specific to each campus, based on an instructor's curriculum.
Many items are expensive, so buy and reorder carefully. There should be close to 100% sell-through after rush, but you can maintain some stock of key items for projects assigned during the school year. Only order enough to match enrollment numbers of the class.
Coordinate with the art department for enrollment data.
There is a suggested planogram available if your campus needs a basic assortment that is not course-specific. There is a 4 foot set and an 8 foot set.
For stores using the 4 foot or 8 foot set, display product on fixtures in the same section of the store as planogram supplies. Logical placement is also near Drafting/Architectural supplies. If all Dept 490/course-related supplies are in another section of the store, place in that section.
To display kits that can be created/ordered, if 2 ft. endcap space is available, use shelves and peg hooks to display items that go inside the kit. Display an empty kit next to these items and use signage to demonstrate that kits are available through the store.
