Management Self-Audit (MSA) is an online tool used to assist store managers with performing and documenting store self-audits.
When the Audit Is Due
The last day of every month for Focus and Target stores.
The last day of June and October for all other stores. The store can complete an audit in any month, even if the audit is not required by Asset Protection or Operations.
Working on the Audit
The MSA consists of 10 sections containing a series of questions related to operational policies and procedures.
You can work on the self-audit over several sessions. You can save your work as you progress. You can save your work, exit and resume working on the self-audit later. View Navigating in Management Self Audit.
When all the questions in every section are complete, the self-audit is submitted to Home Office.
Multiple users can complete the audit.
Completing the Action Plan
When all sections are completed, submit the audit. Any questions answered No are displayed on the Management Self-Audit Action Plan. On the Action Plan page, you indicate how you will improve each issue, who is responsible, and the date for completion. Once the Action Plan is complete, you can submit the self-audit. See Completing the Action Plan for more detail.
Submitting a Completed Self-Audit
The Submit button is activated when all questions have been answered and the Action Plan is complete. You must click Submit for the self-audit to show as complete. Once submitted, you cannot edit the self-audit again.
The name of the person who is signed in at that time the self-audit is submitted is displayed as the person who completed the audit. The Completed Date field identifies the date the self-audit is submitted.
Viewing a Completed Self-Audit
Store managers can access and review completed self-audits from prior months at any time.
Who Uses the Information from the Audit
When the document is submitted, the data is accessible to Asset Protection, Retail Operations, Regional Managers, and Group Vice-Presidents.
Scoring the Self-Audit
The system scores the self-audit as you are completing it. See Scoring the Audit Report for additional details.
See the MSA section of the Training on Demand topic for a collection of recordings for each section of the Management Self Audit application.
