Employee Overview
The Employee tab enables you to set up CORE POS access for regular and temporary team members, and assign their security access. A user cannot access the application (POS or BO) without a user ID and password.
Important: You must also set up your regional manager with the Store Manager security role. This allows your RM to assist when needed, including opening and closing the store.
CORE POS security is based on roles. Security roles define the features and functionality that are available to each team member in CORE POS and BO. See CORE POS Security Roles for a list of roles and the features that are available for each role. There are five CORE POS security roles:
- Store Manager
- Key Holder
- Advanced Cashier
- Cashier
- Temp
Think about the role each team member plays and the responsibilities they have in your store, just not their title. Factors like size, tenure, and experience are all considerations. For example, the Store Manager and Key Holder security is very similar. This allows the key holder to act as the store manager when the store manager is not available. Key holders must be enabled to provide a Hassle-Free Customer Experience and perform management tasks when necessary.
Important: All temporary team members must be assigned the Temp security role. For any exceptions, consult with your regional manager.
A manager override is required when a team member does not have access to a particular function based on their security role parameters. Any team member with the proper security level can perform the management override. Direct your team members who they should contact when a manager override is required.
When an ID is setup, a system-generated seven digit temporary password is created. Provide the temporary password to your team member(s) to login and setup a new password. (Tip: Use a computer connected to a printer, or have a pen and paper handy, when setting up user IDs to record the password.)
You add regular and temporary team members to the database. You can also search for team members and modify a team member's name, role, or status. You can also reset team member passwords.
Note: Team members may not be removed from the database, but you can update their status when they are no longer working at your store or require access to CORE POS.
