Tender with Credit/Debit Card
Transactions can be tendered with both credit and debit cards. The authorization of the credit or debit card is handled by an external payment application.
At the PIN Pad:
- Debit card transactions require a PIN.
- Combo (Debit/Credit) cards are processed as a credit card.
- Credit cards require a signature based on specific bank requirements.
Note: With the implementation of EMV Chip & PIN, some banks no longer require a signature based on transaction amount.
Follow the Payment (Credit or Debit) Card Acceptance Policy.
- Select Credit/Debit on the Tender Options screen.
You are prompted to have the customer insert or swipe the card. The authorization process begins automatically. - When approval is received, ask the customer to follow the directions on the signature pad, if applicable.
- If a signature is required, select Next/Enter once the customer signs.
The Verify Signature screen displays. - To accept the signature, select Yes. To reject it, select No.
If the signature is rejected, you return to the Tender Options screen to select another Tender Option to complete the tender.
- If Yes is selected, and the credit tender is equal to the balance due, the Close Drawer screen displays. If multiple tenders were used, authorization is done for the next tender.
- Select a receipt option.
The receipt prints. You are returned to the Sell Item screen.

Tender Offsite with Wireless (Stand-alone) Credit Card Terminal
- Scan or enter all items in the transaction.
- Select Tender.
The Tender Options screen displays. - Select MoreuOffsite.
The Offsite Tender details screen displays with fields to enter the amount and authorization code obtained from the wireless credit card terminal slip. - Enter the authorization code and select the corresponding Offsite tender option.
The screen to select the receipt option displays. - Select a receipt option.
The receipt prints or is emailed to the customer. The register returns to the Sell Item screen.
