Pack Items for a Customer Order
It is vital that orders arrive at their destination in the condition in which they were shipped. Pay attention to details in shipment and packaging preparation to minimize losses due to damage.
Whether shipping to a customer or to another FHEG store for an in-store customer pickup:
Verify accurate products and quantities are ready to pack or package.
- Remove asset protection tags from clothing and course materials.
Use generic rental stickers on textbooks for customer rentals.
Keep Used Saves stickers on used textbooks.
Ask another team member to verify items match what is listed on packing slip or order detail.
Note: Stores with only one team member working during this process are exempt from this step.- Gather cartons or bags and clean packing materials.
Important: Select a container that is the appropriate size for the merchandise and do not overpack. - Gather the proper paperwork.

- Place approved carton on counter.
- Layer packing materials and center the weight of the shipment in the carton.
Note: Pack evenly to distribute the weight of books.

- Use clean packing material to completely fill all gaps around the merchandise within the carton.
- Insert packing slip in a packing slip envelope and affix to the outside of the box.
For non-ePay orders: Retrieve the POS receipt and attach to the customer package. - Confirm the top flaps of the carton close evenly and lay flush with the top of the carton.
- Reinforce corners and seal the carton with approved packing tape.
- Number multiple cartons, if necessary (e.g., 1 of 6).
Write the number of the carton near the address label and write -Packing List Enclosed - on the outside of the carton that contains the packing list.
