MMS (Merchandise Management System) is a web-based application used to view inventory information and complete store tasks that manage general merchandise (Departments 3—8) inventory.
See CourseTracks for inventory management processes for Departments 1 -2.
The Merchandise Management Systems is divided into three key functions:
- Price and Inventory Lookup provides quick access to inventory quantities and prices by SKU, UPC, and ISBN.
- Top Sold SKU Ranking Inquiry provides the ability to search for SKU sales (Top 50, 100, 150, or 200) based on specified criteria.
- MMS—Inventory Management provides access to store tasks required to maintain general merchandise inventory.
General policies for all receiving include the following:
- All deliveries must have an Accept Delivery before the end of the day that the shipment arrives.
- All deliveries must be detail received within one business day of the delivery arriving at the store, unless the delivery is from an ASN vendor. All ASN shipments must be received the day the shipment arrives.
- Cartons are delivered to the Red Zone until receiving is complete.
- Once these items are detailed received, they are ready to be moved out of the Red Zone and to the sales floor.
- Each store must have a Trouble Zone where deliveries with a problem are temporarily placed.
- All items in the Trouble Zone must be worked daily to resolve the outstanding issues so the delivery can be received according to the receiving policy.
MMS—Inventory Management tasks are divided into three main categories to support maintaining store inventory.
